Healing Herbal Teas We Make
at Home — and Why We Drink
Them Daily

We love making herbal teas in small batches — enough to last a few days so they stay fresh and potent. It's become a daily ritual in our home, and an easy, affordable way to support health naturally without reaching for a pill.

Herbal teas aren't magic. But they're a simple, time-tested way to give your body gentle, consistent support — and when you make them yourself from quality herbs, you know exactly what's going in them.

Here are three of our current go-to blends, why we drink them, and how we prepare them.

Our Three Go-To Herbal Tea Blends

Blend 01
Ginkgo Biloba + Rosemary Tea
Brain Fog & Mental Clarity

This is our go-to when we need to focus. Both ginkgo biloba and rosemary have been studied for their effects on circulation to the brain, cognitive function, and memory. Ginkgo is one of the oldest medicinal plants on earth — used for thousands of years in traditional Chinese medicine. Rosemary, beyond its culinary uses, contains compounds that may support acetylcholine activity, a neurotransmitter involved in memory and learning. We brew this one in the morning as a coffee alternative on days when we want sharp, calm focus.

Blend 02
Hawthorn Berry + Hibiscus Tea
Heart Health & Circulation

These two herbs have centuries of use behind them for cardiovascular support. Hawthorn berry has been studied for its role in supporting healthy blood pressure, circulation, and heart muscle function — it's considered a tonic herb, meaning it works best with consistent daily use over time. Hibiscus adds a beautiful deep red color and a tart, cranberry-like flavor, and has shown promise in research for supporting healthy blood pressure levels. Together they make a tea that's as pleasant to drink as it is supportive. We often enjoy this one in the afternoon, warm or cold.

Blend 03
Dandelion Root + Milk Thistle Tea
Detox Support & Digestion

These gentle herbs are some of our favorites for supporting the body's natural detoxification pathways — primarily through the liver and digestive system. Dandelion root has a long history of use as a digestive bitter, stimulating bile production and supporting the liver. Milk thistle contains silymarin, a compound well-researched for its liver-protective properties. If you're feeling sluggish, bloated, or like your digestion needs a reset, this is a great place to start. The flavor is earthy and slightly bitter — we add a small amount of raw honey to balance it.

How We Brew Them

We keep it simple and practical. The goal is consistency — daily use brings far better results than occasional use — so we make the process as easy as possible.

Our Small-Batch Brewing Method
1
Brew 2–3 servings at a time — use about 1–2 teaspoons of dried herb per cup of boiling water, steeped for 10–15 minutes covered.
2
Store in the fridge in a glass jar or pitcher for up to 3 days. Beyond that, potency and freshness decline.
3
Reheat gently or enjoy cold — both work well. Cold hibiscus tea over ice is especially good in summer.
4
Stay consistent — herbal teas work best as a daily practice. One cup a day over weeks is far more effective than a big batch once a month.

Where We Source Our Herbs

We grow what we can in our garden — rosemary, hibiscus, and dandelion are all relatively easy to grow in Las Vegas with the right soil and watering. For everything else, we use Biokoma, a brand we've found consistently high quality for dried medicinal herbs. Whatever you use, look for organic, non-irradiated herbs with a clear harvest date.
